Areas opens the first EXKi in the Alicante-Elche airport
The Belgian chain, with more than 100 outlets throughout Europe (in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) currently has three outlets in Spanish airports, two of which are in the Barcelona airport. The new space features 190 m2 of space and has capacity for 90 diners.
EXKi’s offering focuses on fresh natural products that are organic and / or fair trade whenever possible. This new outlet offers up a wide range of culinary options to travellers including a broad selection of organic coffees and teas, while also featuring an extensive line of balanced, healthy meals created with quality ingredients. The chain receives expert advice from Frank Fol, a renowned Belgian chef who specializes in healthy food. This new outlet is structured in a Grab & Go format in order to cover different needs, at any time of the day, for the 15 million passengers who pass through this airport every year.
With its finger on the market’s pulse and ever attentive to clients’ needs, Areas is committed to opening more healthy outlets in the Travel Channel sector with innovative brands likes EXKi, La Place, and the company’s own brand Deli&Cia. The opening of this new EXKi brings the number of the brand’s outlets in Spain to three and it forms part of the contract awarded for eight new food and drink outlets at the Alicante airport. Areas has already opened three in the airport: the Santagloria café and bakery, the Carlsberg pub, and the Lavazza café, and will soon open a Deli&Cia, the world’s first Tagliatella in an airport, a Subway, and a Starbucks.
